Literature Rants & Ravings

The Republic of Imagination

Last night, Drake University held the 25th Bucksbaum Lecture (it was also the 15th anniversary of the series). The speaker was Dr. Azar Nafisi.

This is my first vlog post. Ever. So enjoy.
& Please don’t judge me too harshly (the whole world will know I’m fawkward now anyway).

  1. I didn’t think it was that terrible at all for a first time! Good job getting in front of the camera. I just took footage of a concert for mine – not ready to talk into my webcam just yet. :) The Bucksbaum Lecture sounded really interesting, wish I could have gone.

  2. I hate that the Bucksbaum is always scheduled when I have class. The only one I’ve been able to see is the Bill Bryson one, and that’s because it was a “class trip.” This sounded really interesting, but I haven’t read her book. Maybe I’ll pick it up next time I’m out.

  3. Why so nervous? You said a lot of interesting things about the amazing-tastic-ness of literature. Just be yourself more and relax. :) I wish I could have gone to the lecture… :/

Good job on the vlog, though!

Lovely vlog. I’m still terrified to do one. I’m hoping I’ll get the courage…someday. I wish I could have gone to the lecture I would have loved to hear what she had to say. I want to read her book as soon as winter break starts. You know, without all that homework in the way.
